ACADEMY REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES VOL. 11, NO.1 HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA AUGUST, 1966 NEW BOARD OF GOVERNORS met to elect officers following general membership balloting to choose 13 Governors for two-year terms. Brown, Assistant Executive Director. Not present are Frank Capra, Macdonald Carey, Edmond L. DePatie, Geoffrey M. Shurlock, Daniel Taradash, Harry Tytle and Robert E. Wise. Freed Re-elected President, 4 Others Return to Office Arthur Freed w as named to a fourth con secutive t erm as Academy president when the Academy's Board of Governors held its annual organizational meeting following general membership balloting to elect 13 new Governor s. Also voted offices by the Board: Gregory Peck, first vice president; Elmer Bernstein, second v ice president; l a l Elias, secretary; Hal Mohr, assistant secretary; Richard Murphy, tre'asurer; and Macdonald Carey, assistant treasurer. Elias, Mohr, Murphy and Carey served in these capacities last year. The general election saw three new members, Edmond L. DePatie, Fred Hynes and Arthur C. Miller, join 10 inincumbents on the Board . They were elected to two year terms as representatives of the Administrators, Sound and Cinematographers branches, respectively. Re-elected to serve another two year term on the 26-member Board, and the ir branches: Gregory Peck (Actors), Emile Kuri (Art Directors), Frank Capra (Directors), Geoffrey M . Shurlock (Executives), William W. Hornbeck (Film Editors), Elmer Bernstein (Music), Walter M. Mirisch (Producers), Harry Brand (Public Relations), Harry Tytle (Short Subjects), and Daniel Taradash (Writers). Those serving terms that expire next year are: Jack Atlas (public Relations), Steve Broidy (Adm i nistrators), Macdonald Carey (Actors), Hal Elias (Short Subjects), Rud i A . Fehr (Film Editors),Arthur Freed (Producers), Alexander Golitzen (Art Directors), Bronislau Kaper (Music), Jacob H. Karp (Executives), Hal Mohr (Cinematogrophers), Richard Murphy (Writers), Gordon E. Sawyer (Sound), and Robert E. Wise (Directors).
