The report was given to the Board of Directors, which approved it and ordered it published for the Academy members, and for all parties involved in the strike as well as for the general public. Members of the committee were: J. T. Reed, chairman; Frank Lloyd, Lewis Stone, Carey Wilson, Robert Fairbanks, Max Parker, and George Koster, counsel. The first hearing was held July 31 and the committee has been in almost continuous session since that day. The report follows: To the Board of Directors: The strike on July 24th within the motion picture studios was discussed at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and in an endeavor to clarify the seemingly chaotic conditions then existing, the Board of Directors appointed a committee to be known as the "Facts Finding Committee" of the Academy. The functions of this Committee were to invite the Unions and Producers involved to present their arguments relative to the cause and continuance of the strike. This invitation was accepted, and the Producers presented their case in the form of a written brief signed by Pat Casey, their Labor Representative. Columbia Pictures Corporation also presented its case by oral testimony of one of its executives. The Unions involved appeared before the Committee and presented both oral and written testimony. The Committee has studied carefully the testimony, great mass of data, briefs and written statements presented to it, and has derived the following impartial opinion of the facts: On November 29, 1926, an agreement was executed by and between Educational Film Exchanges, Inc.; F.
