This new department will use the medium of the press, speeches and pictures to inform the public of the Academy's program, functions, activities and achievements. Information will be disseminated, prominent visitors to Hollywood will be brought in touch with the Academy and a more wide-spread program of information will convey to the public the purposes of the Academy as developed and accomplished by the creative artists themselves. The new secretary's activities will be broad in scope, contacting wherever possible with individuals and organizations. Many invitations have been extended Academy members to speak in different parts of the country. It is expected that the public relations secretary will be able to cover many such invitations. Mr. Wunder has had extensive experience as writer and lecturer and has contacted with many national welfare and civic organizations. His lectures on motion pictures have been given over a period of the past 10 years, and it is estimated that 150,000 people a year heard him speak on this subject alone. His varied experience in public life, his ability as an organizer and speaker qualify him for the new office.
