BIG "BUD" O'NEILL, the sheriff of Yavapai County, is in love with Nellie Bowen, daughter of
a wealthy rancher. This individual, long on cattle, is easy and short on gambling, and is regarded as a bird of a "come on" class by the sporting fraternity. The foolish old rancher
flushed with "fusil oil," is locked in the back room of the Spread Eagle saloon, where he is being
systematically fleeced by a precious pair of rascals when he is discovered by the sheriff. The sheriff
forces the gamblers to refund; but they are sore and soon manage to trap old Bowen. They hold
him up, getting back their own money with compound interest. The
sheriff again intervenes, and shooting commences. The gamblers get
away with whole skins, but the daring and persistent officer follows
them to their mountain roost and after a desperate hand-to-hand encounter brings them back to Justice. This exciting playlet is replete with
the "real western atmosphere."
